Transcript: We All Count

C’mon. We got to let the country know that we exist. One person making changes from within.
And our voice can be a thunderstorm with just a pen. Say it:

I count, you count, we, we all count.
I count, you count, we, we all count.
I count, you count, we, we all count.
I count, you count, we, we all count.

The way in which we get assigned resources that will help us fight everything from homelessness to HIV/AIDS to breast cancer, those funds will be given, based on how many of us there is.

La información que collecta el Censo ayuda determinar cada año como se va distribuir $400 mil millones de dólares

The census counts same-sex partnerships, and for the first time in 2010 the census is going to count same-sex married couples.

Transgender respondents are counted as the gender they identify with.

So we count whether we are green card holders, whether we are U.S. citizens –

Aun documentado o no, cuentas tu en el Censo.

I count, you count, we, we all count.
I count, you count, we, we all count.
I count, you count, we, we all count.
Yo cuento. Tu cuentas. Tu cuentas.

The 2010 Census for me means being fully a part of this democracy.

I’m going to participate because I think it’s important for LGBT – specifically LGBT people of color – to be counted.

I want all of my identities to come together. I want to be able to say that I’m part of this community.

If I am there within the entire count I can feel as if that I have helped build something.

People need to know that we are here and that we are part of this community.

I’m personally going to participate in the 2010 Census by getting counted. Because my people fought to get counted, and my people currently fight to get counted.

When the 2010 Census form arrives fill it out and mail it back.

Fill it out! Mail it Back!

Es importante.

It’s safe. By law your responses on the census cannot be shared with anyone.

Es seguro. La informacion que colecta el Censo no se puede compartir con otra agencia federal o la policía.

As somebody who understands that our numbers are constantly under-represented I want cada Latino, cada persona, cada momento — We need to all be counted.

I’m going to participate in the 2010 Census because the census counts and so do I.

I count, you count, we, we all count.
I count, you count, we, we all count.
I count, you count, we, we all count.
I count, you count, we, we all count.

I count, you count, we, we all count.
